The 992 GT3 is already among the most refined and fierce track cars available — but even it is held back by compromises in its factory header and collector assembly. Space constraints, restrictive merge geometry, and emission requirements force tight, convoluted collectors that choke flow and hide the flat-six’s true potential. Our MaxFlow Collector Header was engineered to solve all of that with a deliberately oversized collector tuned for maximum scavenging and freer flow, while still preserving the equal-length, long-runner design that delivers harmony and balance across the rev range.

Design & Flow Philosophy

Every runner is matched in length so that exhaust pulses arrive in phase at the collector, eliminating destructive wave interference. The standout feature, however, is the oversized, high-volume collector, which reduces backpressure even at peak exhaust volume. This setup allows the engine to “breathe out” more freely, improving cylinder evacuation and enabling a stronger charge fill on the next intake stroke. The result: smoother throttle transitions, stronger torque through mid-range, and a more controlled aggressive wail at high RPM without the spiky rasp that lesser headers often produce.

Material & Build Quality

We build the MaxFlow header using 100% 304 stainless steel, wrapped in our signature heat-shield material to protect surrounding components and suppress radiant heat. Fittings, flanges, and brackets are CNC-machined from the 3D scan data of the 992’s engine bay, and every bend is mandrel-formed to maintain uninterrupted flow. All seams are executed using back-purged, hand TIG welding—inside and out—to preserve internal surface smoothness and structural robustness under extreme temperatures.

Performance Estimates & Versions

While actual dyno results will vary, here are realistic projections based on published aftermarket results on 992 GT3 platforms:

These gains come from the increased breathing capacity, better scavenging, and reduced backpressure of the larger collector in conjunction with the equal-length layout. To fully unlock them, a custom ECU calibration is strongly recommended, especially for the catless version to keep AFRs safe and emissions faults cleared.

Sound & Character

With the MaxFlow header installed, the flat-six’s voice transforms. Idle deepens and gains harmonic richness. Under acceleration, note density increases — sharper, harder, more “alive." In the upper rev band, the tone stays clean and layered, rather than clipping or turning edgy. Because the collector is large but carefully tuned, the aggressive tone doesn’t come with unwanted drone: you get clarity and performance in one cohesive sound envelope.

Fitment & Installation

  • Fitment: Porsche 992 GT3 / GT3 RS (all model years)

  • Installation: Bolt-on; uses OEM mounting points. Some heat shielding or bracket repositioning may be required due to the larger collector.

  • Reversibility: Fully returnable to stock headers if needed.

  • Compatibility: Works with factory or aftermarket mid/rear exhaust assemblies. Tuning required for optimal results—especially the catless version.
