The S58 is one of BMW’s most capable modern engines, but the factory downpipes are a major restriction once boost is turned up. Our MaxFlow downpipes for the G8X M3, G8X M4, and G87 M2 are engineered to eliminate that bottleneck—unlocking faster turbo response, stronger midrange torque, and a sharper, more aggressive exhaust character while maintaining reliability under extreme thermal load.

3.5'' Maxflow Downpipes w/ Heat Shields

These downpipes are designed around a true 3.5-inch maximum-flow architecture, optimized specifically for the high-output, twin-turbo S58 platform. By dramatically reducing exhaust restriction directly after the turbochargers, the system allows exhaust gases to evacuate faster and more efficiently, which improves turbo spool, reduces exhaust gas temperatures, and delivers a noticeable increase in power throughout the rev range.

To manage the intense heat generated by the S58 under load, each downpipe is fully wrapped in integrated heat shields. This design helps contain radiant heat within the exhaust path, protecting surrounding engine bay components while maintaining consistent exhaust velocity. The result is not only better performance, but also improved thermal stability during hard driving, track use, or repeated high-boost pulls.

Every unit is constructed from aerospace-grade AISI 304 stainless steel, chosen for its excellent resistance to corrosion, fatigue, and extreme heat cycles. The piping is precision-formed with smooth internal transitions to maintain laminar flow and avoid turbulence that can disrupt exhaust efficiency. All joints are hand TIG-welded to ensure strength, durability, and long-term reliability.

These downpipes are designed as a direct bolt-on upgrade using factory mounting points, making installation straightforward with no cutting or fabrication required.

ECU tuning is strongly recommended to fully take advantage of the increased flow and to manage catalyst efficiency monitoring. This product is intended for off-road or track use only.
